We're excited to introduce a new Solution in the Architecture Quality Series. Architecture Records is the second solution following the release of Technical Debt Management. What does Architecture Records include? The Solution enables you to efficiently document and share architectural records to ensure alignment, traceability, and compliance across your enterprise. This includes decision records, patterns, compliance assessments, approved technology standards and compliance exception requests.
Why is this important?
Architecture is the sum of the set of design decisions that make it what it is. Ardoq enables you to record these types of decisions, including what decisions you made, when, who decided, and why.
Recording decisions is useful because:
Architects need easy ways to communicate their decisions to stakeholders.
Important people, including auditors, regulators, executive management, program boards, product owners, and business sponsors, may ask questions about architectural decisions, and you don’t want to get caught off guard.
Important system information can get lost, especially when people leave the company - decision records can be a lifeline for future product owners.
